Analogies vs Examples

I tend to feel that anything that needs likening in its explanation is more often than not, very theoretical and most times at risk of being proved wrong.
An EXAMPLE is this time I went to repair a phone that cost a sizeable sum to purchase. The technician justified his high labour cost using an analogy comparing what it would cost to repair a Mercedes to what it would cost to repair a Toyota. Maybe I am the one who doesn’t have an appreciation of “business practice”, but isn’t it kind of unethical? Because the phone repair man blatantly told me that the phone is not a cheap phone and that’s why it cost a lot to repair. Translation: I charge according to what you can afford!
And oh I forgot to mention that when I finaly agreed to pay, the phone was repaired in 10mins, without the need for any new parts
